Sunday 9th August - walks *** – Around Felixstowe – sunny and hot.
After having pics on the telly two days running I was going to have the day
off but checked the weather and the breeze was very light so I decided to
have a drive round Felixstowe at ten and the sea was like a mill pool but
the breeze was picking up slightly. I quickly stopped on the cliff top just
past Bent Hill to snap a yacht on the still sea before continuing to the
car park at Brackenbury to take a few pics of the beach huts and was
surprised to get one on the BBC for the third day running, sadly I am out
of favour with ITV’s About Anglia as I haven’t had a pic on there since
the 6th July! Carrying onto a very busy Felixstowe Ferry where I had to
park near the chapel and walk to the jetty where the highlight was the
coloured balls on the ice cream kiosk so I took a few photos with the ferry
in the background:) With the crowds flocking to Felixstowe it was nice to
get home and enjoy the peace and quiet in our little garden where we shared
breakfast before doing my exercises! We had a slot booked in the dump at
3.30 and being another hot day we decided to have lunch in the garden
before I made another flask and after the dump run we once again drove down
to Felixstowe Ferry were we walked to the mouth of the River Deben to enjoy
a cuppa and snack watching the water action which included fishing boats,
yachts both old and new, canoes and paddle boards plus the harbour master
takes trips along the river, also kids paddling and people fishing, all in
all a very pleasant way to spend an hour away from the crowds but still too
hot for us!
